These workshops and master classes are held in conjunction with our key media partners across the UK. Due to polular demand we are already looking at 2011 and increasing, not only the number of venues we visit around the UK, we are increasing the number of free places available and increasing the age range. Traditionally Inspiration has been aimed at 14 to 19 year olds. Future events the age will vary some starting at 11 years old while others will be available if you are 20, 30 or 40 plus. If you are interested in changing your career and have an interest in the media, 4Talent can help give you that much needed inspiration.
Inspiration on the Road - gives you an all-round view of the industry, helping you understand different roles within media. It's about inspiring you by showcasing the skills, experiences and attitudes they need to progress - as well as innovative ways to focus and strengthen their own career prospects.
What happens after I have attended?
After plenty of engaging formal and informal learning master classes and workshops, you will have gained a real insight into the different types of roles in the industry and where - perhaps - they could fit in. The 4Talent team will keep in touch with them, offering information on other initiatives, programmes and opportunities available.
The list of towns to your left will to decide which event you would like to attend. Please note that different Inspiration Events are for different age ranges
Getting Started - Kick Start - is aimed at 11 plus
4Talent Extra - is aimed at 21 plus

BBC Writersroom:
BBC Writersroom champions new writing talent in film, television, radio, and theatre.
Writers who we've found and nurtured have gone on to be commissioned for programmes ranging from EastEnders to After You’ve Gone, Doctors to Doctor Who, Two Pints of Lager to Torchwood, Young Dracula to Waking the Dead, BBC Films to BBC7, the Radio 4 Afternoon Play to the BBC1 Afternoon Play.
We run schemes targeting talent from a range of sources. We promote writers across all BBC departments, channels, and programmes. We work in partnerships with theatres, writer's organisations, screen agencies, and the wider cultural industries.
We help new writers develop their craft through the website and in open sessions around the country with the UK's best writing talent. We hold open competitions for writers, and detail other industry opportunities.
BBC writersroom is constantly on the lookout for writers of any age and experience who have exceptional talent, an original voice, and great stories to tell.

Black Prescence:
The Black Presence website was formerly the Black Presence in Britain, a history site about the contribution of African descended people in British history.
The Black Presence in Britain website was set up in 1998 due to a lack of information about the contribution of Black people to British history to be found on the Internet.
I was studying politics at the time, the course included a history module called "The black Presence in Britain 1550-present day”.
Whilst doing my research, I found a serious lack of Black British info online. So, I decided to build my own site where this information could be documented. The site has had many incarnations since then. I built the first version of it using Netscape composer, later moving on to Dreamweaver. Today the site uses content management software.
The site aims to become a large repository of information regarding Black History, in particular Black British History.
Of course the site isn’t exclusively for Black people. We aim to provide information for everyone, so that the History books might in time, become more complete. We welcome ANYONE with a willingness to share in and promote understanding of African peoples and cultures in the wider world.
The site has lots of information and articles to get people started in their understanding of the history and culture of Black/African people over the centuries.
Welcome to the site if you are new here and thank you for reading and supporting this site if you are an old timer.

Creative Future:
Creative Future is a registered charity, bridging the gap between the community arts and the professional arts sectors in the South East. We provide talented marginalised* artists and writers opportunities to earn income from their creative work. We give those excluded by society the chance to reintegrate through their own talents by providing training, support, exhibiting and publishing opportunities, selling & promoting their work at the highest levels. We raise the profile of individual artists/writers and the organisations they access, whilst challenging public stereotypes of marginalised people.

Outsider Writers Collective:
Consider the “outsider” of “outsider writers” a general term describing a person who willingly participates in writing communities outside what would be considering mainstream. The independent and micro-presses, the bloggers, and the scribblers united by the source of their motivations: passion. An outsider does not compromise themselves for anything. Sad, in a way, that the passionate are on the outside.

Survivors Poetry:
Survivors' Poetry is a London-based National arts charity that works to support, promote and publish the poetry of people who have been through, or are currently in, the UK’s mental health system. We work with ‘survivors’ of psychiatric illness, drug addiction, sexual abuse, and mood-altering medication. Many of our clients have experienced the dark end of life in psychiatric hospitals, prisons, rehabilitation units, or counselling centres; all are trying hard to get their lives back together again.
